Rosamunde Pilcher: Love + Therapy

When interior designer Pauline finds out that her husband Ken is cheating on her, it plunges her into a crisis, the reasons for which lie deeper with the only child with a dominant mother. Pauline starts psychotherapy and in the waiting room meets Eric, the husband of Dana, with whom her husband had an affair. It is a strange situation for the two “betrayed”, but it is also helpful. The two become friends and give each other advice and comfort. At the same time, Pauline’s psychotherapist Bernard gets to know and love her mother Eve, without suspecting that the women are related.

Mother and daughter have had a strained relationship for a long time, especially since the family porcelain factory, where Ken also works, has been in the red. Pauline’s mother has other plans for the future of the traditional house than her son-in-law. But both need Pauline’s approval. But she feels more and more attracted to Eric. When she realises that her psychotherapist and her mother are a couple, Pauline flees in shock into Eric’s arms. He has equally disturbing news to deal with. Dana is unexpectedly pregnant and cannot say for sure whether her affair Ken is the father or Eric. When Eve demands that Bernard act as her daughter’s therapist in her overbearing way, he puts her in her place and asks her to face her mother-daughter conflict instead. The emotional chaos is definitely perfect from that moment on, high time to remember, love is the best therapy in the end.
