Billy Kuckuck: Angezählt
The bailiff Billy Kuckuck is supposed to cut off the electricity in a boxing studio because the owner Kai Burdenski has not paid the bills. The formerly celebrated boxing champion has been missing paying customers for some time, which is why he is also in arrears with the rent for the studio. In his correspondingly run-down studio, Burdenski now trains difficult-to-educate youths, including the young boxing talent Samy, who lost her entire family when she fled Afghanistan and has found a surrogate father in Burdenski. When Billy arrives with the electrician, it almost comes to an escalation with the youths, whereupon Billy unceremoniously grants Burdenski a day’s respite. But nothing good awaits Billy at home either, because her daughter Hannah hid a 5 minus in math from her and forged her signature. To make matters worse, Hannah and Billy’s mother Christel are in cahoots. And Billy’s much too pushy neighbor Holger doesn’t make her mood any better… In order to pay off his debts, Burdenski agrees to a show fight, although he only has one kidney left and this fight could cost him his life. Samy and Billy are alarmed and want to dissuade Burdenski from this stupidity.
Therefore Billy tries to get Budenski’s daughter Jessica, with whom he has had no contact for a long time, to help her father. But she is still too disappointed that her father, at the zenith of his career, left his family hanging. Jessica cannot and will not believe that he has changed since then. Billy therefore arranges a meeting between Burdenski’s “foster daughter” Samy and Jessica, in which Samy manages to convince her otherwise. And for the financial problems, ex-husband Gunnar gives Billy a good idea: she successfully organizes an auction of Burdenski’s boxing trophies and he is rid of his debts for the time being. He cancels the boxing match and talks it out with his daughter.
As the relationship between Jessica, Burdenski and his little grandson Nils improves, Samy increasingly feels like the fifth wheel and gradually withdraws. And so, at first, no one finds out that she is threatened with deportation to Afghanistan on her upcoming 18th birthday. With the help of her best friend Susanne, Billy manages to find a solution for Samy: She must box so well in a selection match that she is accepted into the German national squad. Burdenski even believes that Samy can do it. But does Samy also believe in herself? It is not an easy nut for Billy to convince the traumatized young woman of this…
