Rosamunde Pilcher: Where love ends and beginns

Kate runs a café with her friend Polly – a job she loves. However, in her marriage to the successful marine biologist Andrew, the intimacy has long since faded. A weekend together in Cornwall, where they were married, is intended to give them the chance to reconnect. At the idyllic country hotel, the couple meet the sensitive philosophy professor Yamen and the young model Ivy, who is searching for a special wedding venue. But whilst Ivy explores the area with Finn, the hotel owners’ daughter, her plans and feelings begin to waver. As Andrew continues to devote himself passionately to his work even whilst on holiday, Kate feels hurt and begins to question her life. The unexpectedly intense encounter with Yamen, who offers her attention and understanding, gives Kate the courage to break new ground and realise her dream of opening her own literary café. Andrew, on the other hand, realises that he does not want to give up on his marriage without a fight…
