Landscape architect Victoria Crayshaw wants to fulfil her late mother’s last wish: to create a Japanese garden on her family’s property. Since she can no longer travel to Japan with her mother to find inspiration, she searches online for a travel companion. She finds what she is looking for in maths teacher and hobby gardener Carl Webber, who is also supposed to help her with the implementation. But when she picks him up at the bus station, he seems very different from what she had imagined. She doesn’t know yet that financial advisor Jon Stebbing has spontaneously assumed Carl’s identity and is fleeing from the revenge plot of his jealous ex-girlfriend. Not only Victoria’s father Stephen and her godmother Charlotte quickly realise that something is wrong with the fake Carl – Victoria is not blind either…
