Chimney sweep Clare Ridley’s old emotions are quickly revived when she meets her childhood love Josh Harding again. Josh has come to Cornwall to persuade his widowed aunt Jessica to sell her beloved period house. He wants to use his share of the inheritance to support his fiancée Lisa’s start-up – but Jessica has no intention of giving up her home. Clare and her father Daniel, a stove and heating engineer, are tasked with helping Jessica keep the house. Whilst Clare and Josh grow closer again, Josh finds himself increasingly torn. When Jessica’s precious family jewellery goes missing and Clare, of all people, comes under suspicion, her relationship with Josh is put to the test. And the tentative bond between Jessica and Daniel also threatens to fall apart as a result.
